The main resorts are:
Playa Blanca, which is situated on the south coast and is backed by the Timanfaya National Park. What once was a fishing village has now become a popular resort for the independent visitor. It offers cobbled streets full of bars, restaurants and shops as well as magnificent volcanic landscape and the popular Papagayo beaches. It is approximately 45 minutes from the airport.
Costa Teguise is a resort that caters for British visitors, full of cosmopolitan restaurants and bars. The golden sands of Las Cucharas are a local attraction point, while you will also find a golf course and an aqua park. Located to the east it is approximately 30 minutes from the airport.
Puerto Del Carmen offers a twelve kilometre long beach and excellent nightlife, with a number of bars, pubs restaurants and a casino. You can enjoy the picturesque old town or a stroll down the local marina. There is also a large shopping centre; the Biosphere offering reasonably priced branded clothing. Being the largest resort in Lanzarote it is excellent for a lively holiday and is only 20 minutes away from the airport. |
